Crayonic USB Bridge
Specification of version 0.9

Crayonic USB Bridge uses Bluetooth protocol to replace cable connection between Crayonic devices and the end-point. When one of Crayonic devices connects to the bridge it will appear to an end-point as if connected via USB cable. This has multiple advantages:
-
No pairing is needed since the Crayonic USB Bridge is pre-paired with all Crayonic products (KeyVault and Badge).
-
It continually scans for active devices to connect them in speedy fashion when in close proximity (distance can be set per each bridge via related app).
-
It disconnects Crayonic device when disconnect threshold is reached allowing for executing pre-defined disconnect event i.e. lock or logout from desktop.
-
It may be augmented with secure element to protect its keys with Common Criteria certified key store.
-
It supports all protocols that Crayonic devices use for communication i.e. FIDO-CTAP2 and CCID smart card protocols. (Mass storage device protocol will be supported in future).
-
Unlike standard Bluetooth connection to end-point for FIDO authentication, Crayonic USB Bridge does not require pairing for FIDO operations and also allows for automatic logout from desktop based on proximity. This is highly suitable for fast paced environments with many shared workstations.
-
Each Bridge can be configured separately using Windows Bridge Config tool to fine tune connect and disconnect distances and update Bridge firmware.
