Crayonic Comms
Status: In development. Details and timelines are preliminary.
Overview
Crayonic Comms adds secure, identity-bound messaging and paging to the Crayonic wearable ecosystem. Messages are authenticated by the recipient's Crayonic device identity, not by a phone number or username, which removes whole classes of impersonation and phishing risk from routine operational traffic.
Planned Capabilities
- Identity-bound text paging — send short messages to a user by their Crayonic identity; delivery is confirmed by the receiving Badge or Mobile ID Wallet
- Group broadcasts — send to roles, zones or teams defined in Crayonic Device Manager
- Acknowledgements and signed responses — the recipient can acknowledge with a device-signed receipt
- Zone-aware delivery — when combined with Crayonic RTLS, messages can be targeted by location (e.g. everyone on the second floor)
- Offline buffering — messages queued when the target device is offline and delivered on reconnect
Integration Points
- Crayonic Badge — displays messages on the Badge secure display
- Crayonic Mobile ID Wallet — receives messages on the user's smartphone
- Crayonic Device Manager — admin console for sending, auditing and reporting
- Crayonic RTLS — zone-aware targeting
